Dan Murphy is in his sixth year as Trinity’s Aquatics Director. Since being appointed in the spring of 2012, Dan's duties include the supervision of Trinity’s Outdoor Pool, Hixon Natatorium (indoor), and the lifeguards staff.
Dan coached swimming and diving, and gymnastics, for 28 years at Millard Public Schools in Omaha, Nebraska. He also taught in the school system before retiring five years ago. For two years, Dan was the director of the Flour Bluff ISD swimming and diving programs in Corpus Christi, Texas.
As a diving coach, Dan’s teams produced three NCAA Division I All-America selections, four Division II honors, and seven to NAIA accolades. He also had 19 high school All-America honorees, 21 state high school champions, and three national age group champions.
Dan’s high school swim teams were state runners-up on three occasions, and 20 became state champions. In gymnastics, Dan mentored two state high school champion teams, four runner-up squads, 20 individual state champions, and 14 All-America selections.
He was an aquatics director at Millard Public Schools for eight years, and has been a swim lesson supervisor, lifeguard instructor trainer, and water safety instructor trainer.
