Seth Asbury is in his 11th year on the Trinity staff in the 2016-17 season. Seth was promoted to the position of Associate Director of Athletics for Facilities and Event Management in June 2015. He has managed Trinity’s athletics facilities, operations and special events since 2009.

Seth is involved in the planning and implementation of all Trinity Athletics facilities renovation projects. Additionally, Seth teaches courses in Trinity’s Sport Management program.

He joined the staff in June 2006 as Aquatics Assistant, managing pool operations and the lifeguard staff.  One year later he was named Coordinator of Athletic Events, when he took over management for Trinity-hosted athletic contests, as well as supervision of the William H. Bell Athletic Center student staff.

Prior to his appointment at Trinity, Seth worked at the University of Texas at San Antonio for three years, where he assisted in opening the recreation center in January 2003. Seth managed programming and open recreation at the center, as well as supervising over 200 student employees.

A native of Greenwood, Indiana, Seth received an associate’s degree in physical education from Vincennes (IN) University in 1998. He was a member of the men’s soccer team, and officiated the sport in the intramural league and the local youth program.

Seth transferred to Indiana State University, where he was a member of the club soccer team, as well as participating in intramurals. He earned the Bachelor of Science degree in recreation and sport management in 2000. Seth later was an intern for the Indiana Blast professional soccer team, and also worked for the Indianapolis Department of Parks and Recreation.

He took graduate classes in sports studies at Miami (OH) University from August 2001-December 2002. While at Miami, Seth was a graduate assistant in the Department of Physical Education, Health and Sports Studies. He taught physical education activity classes, was student supervisor in the Recreation Center, officiated intramurals, and coached the men’s club soccer team. Seth moved to San Antonio in 2002, and completed the Miami requirements for a Master of Science degree in 2004, with an emphasis in sport organization.

Seth is a member of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA), and the Collegiate Events and Facility Management Association (CEFMA), an affiliate of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). He has made numerous presentations at regional and national conferences. 

Seth and his wife, Brooke, have two sons, Evan and Keegan.
