Irving, Texas - The Tiger baseball team took a 10-4 road win at the University of Dallas (TX) on Saturday, completing the weekend sweep in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.
After spotting the Crusaders single runs in the first and second, the Tigers got on the board in a big way by scoring five runs on three hits to take control of the game.
Trinity added another run in the third, and after Dallas answered with a run of its own in the bottom of the inning, the Tigers came right back in the fourth with another score to make it a 7-3 game.
Dallas inched to within three with a run in the sixth, but Trinity hammered out three runs on four hits in the eighth and ninth to seal the victory.
Trinity has won seven of the last eight outings to improve to 20-13 overall and 9-6 in conference play. Dallas falls to 12-24 and 3-12 in SCAC.
The Tigers swept their first SCAC series of the year, and are in third place in the league standings with just one weekend remaining in the regular season.
Scott Walters hit 3-5 with a triple and three runs scored in the game, increasing his team lead to 30 runs scored this season.
Michael Good rich went 2-4 with two RBI at the plate, including his third home run of the season - a solo shot in the fifth.
George Haaland drove in two runs to tie for the team lead with 24 RBI this season.
Mark Tindall (1-0) struck out three batters in four innings of relief to pick up the victory. Tindall allowed just one earned run on three hits.
The Tigers will take on Concordia (TX) University in a non-conference road game on Tuesday night, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
