Ben Robinson and Garrett Biel Named SCAC Players of the Week

San Antonio - Trinity University Tigers senior linebacker Ben Robinson and junior kicker Garrett Biel have been selected as Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week.
 
Robinson (Coppell, Texas/Coppell) was named SCAC Defensive Player of the Week, and Biel (Clayton, Calif./De La Salle) was chosen as SCAC Special Teams Player of the Week.
 
Both players were instrumental in the 24th-ranked Tigers 62-7 SCAC victory over Rhodes last Saturday in Memphis, Tenn. Trinity remained undefeated at 3-0, and is now 1-0 in SCAC play.
 
The 5-foot-11, 193-pound Robinson registered five tackles (four solo), and made his first interception of the season. Robinson returned an interception 62 yards, which set up a Tiger touchdown in the second quarter.
 
Robinson's interception was one of four turnovers forced by the the Tigers (three interceptions, one fumble). His 62-yard interception return is the second in his career of 60 or more yards. Last season, Robinson returned an interception for 67 yards and a touchdown against DePauw.
 
The 5-foot-8, 177-pound Biel chalked up 14 points in the game with Rhodes. He booted two first-half field goals of 28 and 37 yards (his longest of the season), and a total of eight extra points in the game. Biel's extra points tied a Trinity single-game record.  Biel leads the Tigers with 25 total points, kicking 3-3 field goals, and 16-17 extra points.

Trinity, led by Head Coach Steve Mohr, travels to Jackson, Miss., Saturday to take on Millsaps in a SCAC match-up at 1 p.m.
