Kevin O’Keefe has completed four seasons with the Tigers football program. Starting in the 2016 campaign, Coach O'Keefe was in charge of the running backs. He has also coached the tight ends and the offensive line. 

Coach O’Keefe was the head football coach and athletic coordinator at Seven Lakes High School (Katy ISD, TX) from 2005-2012. Seven Lakes made its first-ever state playoff appearance, in 2009, under the leadership of Coach O’Keefe.

He was head coach and athletic coordinator at L.V. Hightower High School (Fort Bend ISD, TX) from 1998-2004. Hightower made five consecutive playoff appearances from 2000-2004. Coach O’Keefe was selected as the 2001 Coach of the Year by the Touchdown Club of Houston, after Hightower advanced to the state quarterfinals.

From 1994-1998, Coach O’Keefe was head coach and athletic coordinator at Spring Woods High School (Spring Branch ISD, TX). He led Spring Woods to the 1997 playoffs, the team’s first trip since 1983.

Coach O’Keefe played a major role in the success of Elsik High School (Alief ISD, TX), in his role of defensive coordinator from 1982-1994. Elsik made seven playoff appearances during that time period, and advanced to the state quarterfinals in 1992 and 1993. 

 He began his coaching career as defensive coordinator at Strake Jesuit College Prep in Houston, from 1979-1982. Strake Jesuit captured two state championships in 1980 and 1982.

The Greater Houston Football Coaches Association inducted him into the Hall of Honor in 2011.

Coach O’Keefe earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in health and physical education, with a minor in history, from Texas Lutheran University in 1979. He was a key member of TLU’s NAIA national championship team in 1975, and the finalist squad in 1976.

He and his wife, Anna, are the parents of twin daughters, Natalie and Ashley.
