Stew Krisch is in his 18th overall season on the Tiger staff and will coach running backs during the campaign. He returned to the program prior to the 2012 season, as quarterbacks coach.
Coach Krisch has coached three All-America quarterbacks - including two at Trinity - and numerous all-conference quarterbacks. He was Trinity’s offensive coordinator for 12 seasons, from 1996-1999 and from 2002-2009. During that time, Coach Krisch guided the Tiger offense to a number of school and conference records.
He was the quarterbacks coach at Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State) in 2000 and 2001. Prior to his arrival at Trinity, Coach Krisch was the offensive coordinator at West Texas A&M University for four seasons, leading the team to 50 school records and 12 NCAA marks. He also coached at Midwestern State (TX) University, Southern Methodist (TX) University, and A&M Consolidated High School (College Station, Texas).
A native of San Antonio, Coach Krisch graduated from Marshall High School in 1980. He played football for Texas A&M University and was a member of the Corps of Cadets. Coach Krisch earned his bachelor’s degree in 1984. He received a master’s in 1986 and served as a graduate assistant for the Aggies.
Coach Krisch and his wife, Rhonda, reside in La Vernia, Texas. They have one daughter, a grandson, and granddaughter.
