Ross Burt, a former Trinity basketball standout, is in his seventh season as the Tigers assistant coach.
Since joining Trinity’s full-time coaching staff in 2007, Coach Burt, working with Head Coach Pat Cunningham, has assisted in guiding the Tigers to two NCAA Division III playoff appearances. Trinity also has captured a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship during his tenure. He was a part-time assistant coach during the 2006-07 campaign.
Coach Burt assists in recruiting, on-court coaching, scouting and game preparation, organizing practices, coordinating travel plans, and conducting individual workouts.
The talented Coach Burt was a Tiger player from the 2002-03 through 2005-06 seasons. A team captain, he earned D3hoops.com All-South Region honors, and was elected to the All-SCAC First Team. Coach Burt also scored over 1,000 career points, and was a member of the 2004-05 team which set a school record for victories, with 25. The squad also advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight.
A native of Houston, Coach Burt earned the Bachelor of Science in accounting from Trinity in 2006, and went on to receive a Master of Science in accounting.
Prior to becoming a full-time coach, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as a public accountant.
