Trinity Men's Tennis Goes 1-2 at ACU Invitational
Abilene, Texas - The Trinity Tigers men's tennis team, ranked No. 14 in the NCAA Division III, went 1-2 at the ACU (Abilene Christian University) Invitational.
Oklahoma Christian, a member of the NAIA, beat the Tigers 6-3 Saturday afternoon. Trinity won Nos. 2 and 3 doubles. Max Frey and Erick DelaFuente took No.2 doubles, and Ben Carroll and Don Murray won No. 3. Franklin Davis captured No. 6 singles.
The Tigers (1-2) lost 6-3 to Abilene Christian, ranked No. 23 in Division II, and then rallied to defeat Midwestern State 5-4. Midwestern State is ranked 25th in Division II.
Trinity opens its home schedule Friday by hosting JUCO powerhouse Tyler Junior College at 3 p.m. at Delavan Tennis Stadium.
