Tyler, Texas - The singles and doubles qualifying rounds were held Friday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southwest Region Championships.
Trinity's McKenna Fujitani advanced in qualifying singles with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Leonardo Marchesi of Concordia (TX) University.
Cameron Bilsbarrow defeated Hardin-Simmons (TX) University's B.J. Famakis 6-2, 6-7, 10-7.
Kevin Lee was a 6-2, 6-2 winner over Jace Mahan of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (TX).
Austin Crist suffered a tough 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 loss to Southwestern University's Grant Gideon.
In qualifying doubles, Fujitani and Tilden Oliver defeated Chandler Livingston and Griffin Weinkam of Hardin-Simmons 8-6. Lee and Austin Crist beat Alex Mackeller and Julian Dunmore of Mary Hardin-Baylor 8-5.
Lambeth and Tyer are seeded #2 in main-draw doubles, while Mayer and Niess are fourth. Pitts and Paul Bhatia are the seventh-seeded team in the draw.
The singles and doubles tournaments continue at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
