Matt Tyer and Wilson Lambeth Reach Oracle Cup Semifinals

Surprise, Arizona - The second-seeded Trinity duo of Matt Tyer and Wilson Lambeth advanced to the Division III Doubles semifinals of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Oracle Cup on Thursday afternoon.



Matt Tyer and Wilson Lambeth won their quarterfinals match 6-4, 1-6, 10-4 over the University of Chicago's Tyler Raclin and Max Hawkins.

Trinity's top doubles team now advances to the final day of competition, beginning with a Friday afternoon semifinals match.  The championship will be held late-afternoon on Friday.



Matt Tyer advanced to the semifinals for the second straight year. Tyer went on to win the national title in 2015 with former Trinity player Adam Krull.

The ITA Oracle Cup "Super Bowl" is slated for Saturday and Sunday, and will be an additional doubles tournament consisting of champions of NCAA Divisions II and III, the NAIA, and the National Junior College Athletic Association.



Matt Tyer and Wilson Lambeth take on Yangeng Jiang and Kyle Wolfe of Bowdoin (ME) College in the Doubles semifinals at 1:00 p.m. MST Friday.  The winner advances to face either unseeded Nikolai Parodi and Glenn Hull from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CA) College, or #4 seeds Jonathan Jemison and David Omsky of Emory (GA) University.
