14th-Ranked Tiger Men's Tennis Blasts Birmingham-Southern

San Antonio - The 14th-ranked Trinity men's tennis team scored a spring season-opening 9-0 victory over Birmingham-Southern (AL) College on Wednesday.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

All of the Trinity singles players won their matches in straight sets. Chas Mayer fought to win the first set of #1 singles 7-5, and then prevailed 6-4 in the second. Wilson Lambeth took #2 singles, Jordan Pitts was a winner in the third matchup, and Liam Crawley got the nod at #4 singles.

The dual match was clinched by Kevin Lee, who won #5 singles. McKenna Fujitani was victorious in the sixth singles matchup.

Lambeth and Matt Tyer took #1 doubles, after a 9-7 battle. Pitts and Crawley were the #2 doubles winners, while Fujitani and Cameron Bilsbarrow prevailed in the third match.

 

UP NEXT

The Tigers are headed to Abilene, Texas, to take on Tyler (TX) Junior College and Abilene Christian (TX) University.  Trinity faces TJC, the top-ranked team in the Junior College rankings, on Friday evening, then takes on Division I ACU on Saturday morning.  The Tigers finish with a match at Hardin-Simmons on Saturday afternoon.
