Brandi Crnkovic has completed four seasons as the Trinity Tigers head softball coach.
Since her first season in 2013, Coach Crnkovic has amassed a record of 96-68 (.585) in the past four campaigns. She stands at 58-21 (.734) in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Coach Crnkovic led the Tigers to a 27-16 record in 2013, the second-most victories since the 2006 season.
Trinity has advanced four times to the SCAC Championship game under Coach Crnkovic’s leadership, and for the sixth overall consecutive time. The Tigers completed the 2016 season with a 26-16 overall record, and were 17-7 in the SCAC. Trinity hosted the SCAC Championship, and battled nationally ranked Texas Lutheran University in the final.
A total of 26 players have earned All-SCAC recognition with Coach Crnkovic at the helm, including 11 First Team honorees. The conference superlatives include a Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, and Newcomer of the Year. Four players have also been elected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region Team. Included on the list were Emily Fleischman and Rebecca Berreth following the 2016 campaign.
Coach Crnkovic joined the Trinity staff as an assistant coach in 2010, and held the position during the 2011 and 2012 seasons. She came to the Trinity campus from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, where she was a graduate assistant with the NCAA Division I Bearkats softball program.
A former Bearkats pitcher, Coach Crnkovic is Sam Houston State’s all-time career strikeout leader (524 strikeouts in 137 games). She also ranks No. 2 in saves (eight), fifth in innings pitched (664), and No. 6 in victories (49).
In 2007, Coach Crnkovic was named the Southland Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player, after pitching 23 consecutive scoreless innings. The Bearkats earned their first-ever NCAA Division I postseason softball berth. She was also selected for the All-Southland Conference Second Team. Coach Crnkovic hurled four no-hitters during her career at Sam Houston State.
Coach Crnkovic earned the Bachelor of Arts degree from Sam Houston State in kinesiology in 2009, and was named to the Southland Conference Academic Team the same year.
A native of Caldwell, Texas, Coach Crnkovic was an all-state and four-time all-district honoree, while playing for the Caldwell High School Hornets.
