San Antonio - Two Trinity student-athletes have been elected to the respective Google Cloud NCAA Division III Academic All-District 8 Men's and Women's Track/Cross Country Teams.

Selected by members of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), student-athletes are honored for their combined performances in athletics and in the classroom. The national Academic All-America Teams will be announced June 19.

Matt Love recently earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity in business administration and communication. He received CoSIDA Academic All-District accolades last season, as well as United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team kudos the past two seasons. Love has been a member of Trinity's Dean's List and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Academic Honor Roll.

Last week, Love earned All-America honors with an eighth-place finish in the discus throw at the NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. Love hurled the discus 50.49 meters in his third consecutive NCAA Outdoor meet. He also qualified for the USTFCCCA All-South/Southeast Region Team in the discus and won his signature event at the SCAC Championships for the third time in his career.

Molly McCullough is a junior engineering science major and has twice made the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. She also has been a member of the Dean's List and the SCAC Academic Honor Roll.

A versatile student-athlete, McCullough's year of competition began last fall on Trinity's women's cross country team. McCullough became the third All-American in Trinity cross country history with a 38th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships. She just missed All-America kudos at the NCAA Track & Field Championships with a ninth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. McCullough garnered All-South/Southeast Region accolades in the steeplechase and the 5,000 meters.

Trinity's cross country teams are led by Emily Daum, who has completed four years at the helm of the Tigers squads. Coach Daum guided Trinity's women to a 16th-place finish at nationals and to the South/Southeast Region Championship. She was elected the USTFCCCA Women's Cross Country South/Southeast Region Coach of the Year. She also led the men's and women's teams to SCAC Championships and was voted the conference Coach of the Year in both categories.

The track & field teams are led by sixth-year Head Coach Marcus Whitehead, who took a school-record nine student-athletes to the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships. Three of those competitors earned All-America honors and 15 of his charges picked up All-South/Southeast Region awards. Trinity's women won their fourth straight SCAC Championship, while the Tiger men placed second.
