Joe Meno has completed 11 seasons as the part-time throws coach for the Trinity Tigers track & field program.
Coach Meno focuses his attention on shot put, discus, the hammer throw, and the javelin. He has coached multiple Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference champions during his time at Trinity. The Tiger throws squad has been instrumental in multiple SCAC Men's and Women's team titles.
In 2009, Coach Meno led Justin Campbell to a third-place finish in the discus, and Chris Baer to a No. 3 position in the javelin at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Coach Meno again guided Campbell to the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Matt Love placed 14th in the 2016 NCAA men's discus event.
Coach Meno and his colleagues have been voted the SCAC Men's and Women's Staff of the Year in 2013, 2015, and 2016; and the Men's Staff of the Year in 2014.
Coach Meno earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology, environmental science, and chemistry from Westmar (IA) University, as well as playing football on a full scholarship.
After coaching at Moorpark High School (CA), the Meno family moved to Texas. Coach Meno later received a Master of Arts degree in education from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2007.
Coach Meno and his wife of 17 years, Stephanie, have five children: Kalea, Kai, Keahi, Kanoa, and Kamalei.
