#3 Tiger Women's Soccer Posts Shutout Win Over Schreiner

San Antonio - The third-ranked Trinity women's soccer team scored first-half goals and shut out Schreiner (TX) University 3-0 in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match-up Tuesday night.

Trinity scored all three goals in the first half of play, and didn't allow Schreiner a shot over the 90 minutes of action.

Chelsea Cole lit up the scoreboard for the eventual game-winner in the 20th minute, with Julia Camp supplying the assist.

Minutes later, Camp scored a goal of her own, knocking in a rebound from her missed penalty kick.

Meredith Licata subbed into the game in the 31st minute, scoring the game's final goal just 15 seconds after entering the game.

The undefeated Tigers upped their overall record to 12-0-0, and their SCAC mark to 6-0-0. The Mountaineers dropped to 6-4-3 and 4-2-1. Trinity and Schreiner will play again on October 28 in Kerrville, Texas.

Tuesday's tilt marked the sixth consecutive shutout game for the Tigers.

The win over Schreiner was the third game this season the Trinity defense did not allow an opponent to take a shot.

Chelsea Cole scored her third goal of the season, but the score was her first game-winner.

Julia Camp leads the Tigers in goals, assists, and points, tallying 25 points this season.  She has now scored nine goals to go with seven assists.

Meredith Licata produced her fourth scoring play of the year.

The Tigers will host two SCAC games this weekend, starting with Austin (TX) College at 8:00 p.m. Friday. Trinity wraps up its regular-season home schedule Sunday, by hosting Centenary (LA) College at 2:00 p.m.
