Trinity Women’s Soccer Defeats Hanover in NCAA Second Round

Bloomington, Illinois - The second-ranked Trinity women's soccer team had a 3-1 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship second-round victory over Hanover (IN) College Sunday afternoon.


Julia Kelly opened the scoring with a solo shot in the 41st minute of action at Illinois Wesleyan University.

The Panthers then scored an equalizer in the 56th minute of play.

Approximately 30 seconds later, Julia Camp and Colleen Markey combined for the eventual game-winning goal.

The Tigers wasted no time finding the net again. Four minutes later, Chelsea Cole put one past the Hanover keeper on an assist by Yasmeen Farra.



Trinity remained undefeated with a 22-0-0 record, while Hanover completed its season with a 14-6-0 mark.

The Tigers advanced to the round of 16 for the third time in the past four years, with the last appearance coming in 2014.

Julia Camp scored her 12th goal of the campaign, and the second game-winner.

Julia Kelly produced her eighth goal of the season, and Chelsea Cole scored her seventh.

Colleen Markey and Yasmeen Farra each have seven assists to their credit.

Janie Thompson was the keeper for the full 90 minutes and registered four saves.



Trinity will face Penn State Berks in the round of 16 next weekend. The site and date will be announced by the NCAA.
