Chelsea Frye has completed her second campaign as the Trinity Tigers women’s soccer team’s assistant coach. She joined the Trinity program in the summer of 2015.
For the previous three seasons, Coach Frye was an assistant at her alma mater, Wartburg (IA) College. The Knights made an NCAA Division III Tournament appearance in 2012. She also had been the head girls soccer coach at Waverly-Shell Rock High School (IA) since 2013.
The talented Coach Frye was elected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-North Region First Team in 2011. She also was a four-time Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honoree from 2008 to 2011. Coach Frye played in 84 games for Wartburg, scoring 44 goals, shelling out eight assists, and chalking up 96 points. The Knights made two NCAA appearances during her time as a player, in 2010 and 2011.
Coach Frye received a bachelor’s degree from Wartburg in 2012, in fitness management and psychology. She earned a master’s in physical education from the University of Northern Iowa in 2014, with an emphasis in teaching and coaching. Coach Frye holds an NSCAA National Diploma.
