Trinity Women Finish Road Trip With Loss to Claremont

Claremont, California - The Tiger women's tennis team lost the final match of its Spring Break road trip on Monday afternoon, falling 9-0 to Claremont College.

Trinity (7-3) went 3-2 on the five-day trip on the West Coast, but lost each of its past two matches.  In the match against Claremont, the Tigers lost two narrow doubles matches to start the day, missing out on early chances for points.

Mackenzie Knoop and Thavindra Ekanayake lost 7-9 at No. 1 doubles, and Katie Griffith and Kylie Hornbeck lost 6-8 at the second slot. 

Later in singles, Knoop lost 6-7, 2-6 at No. 1 singles, which was the closest singles contest of the day. 

Trinity returns to action on March 24 against Whitman College in Tyler, Texas.  The Tigers also face Tyler Junior College in the afternoon, then will play at the University of Texas-Tyler on March 25.  Trinity returns home March 27 against Willamette University.
