Volleyball's Win Streak Snapped in Narrow Loss at Texas Lutheran

Seguin, Texas - Trinity's volleyball team had its seven-match winning streak snapped in a 3-2 loss at Texas Lutheran University on Wednesday evening.

The Tigers beat Texas Lutheran 3-2 last Thursday in San Antonio, part of a three-match homestand last week.  Prior to tonight, Trinity had not lost since a 3-2 match against Emory University on September 15.

Layne Hubbard was one of three Tigers with double-doubles in the match.  Hubbard finished with team-highs in both kills (12) and digs (22).  Jenny Epperson had 13 digs and a team-best 14 assists, while Maggie Emodi piled up 17 digs to go with her 11 kills.

Epperson and Kelsey Daniel also tied for the team lead with two service aces each.  Daniel also had four kills and four blocks for the Tigers.  Erin Cusenbary and Jana Tucker tied for the team lead with six blocks each, while Tucker also had seven kills.  Meredith Erwin added 17 digs for the Tgiers.

Trinity continues a busy week with three Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matches this weekend.  The Tigers open with matches against Centenary College and nationally-ranked Southwestern University on Saturday.  The weekend wraps up with Trinity facing nationally-ranked Colorado College.
