Trinity Volleyball Rises to Seventh in AVCA National Rankings

San Antonio - Trinity volleyball is now the seventh-ranked team in the nation, according to the latest Division III poll published by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

The Tigers (6-2) previously held a ranking of 10th. Led by 33rd-year Head Coach Julie Jenkins, Trinity went 3-1 at last weekend's Cal Lu Fornia Invitational at Thousand Oaks, California. The Tigers claimed wins over #9 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CA) Colleges, the 11th-ranked host California Lutheran University, and Pomona-Pitzer (CA) Colleges.

Earlier in the season, Trinity defeated #23 University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and California Lutheran, which was ranked sixth nationally at the time.

This Friday and Saturday, the Trinity Fall Classic is set on campus. First up on Friday is Hardin-Simmons (TX) University at 3:00 p.m., followed by a match with 11th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at 7:00 p.m. The Tigers will face East Texas Baptist University on Saturday, as well as a rematch with Pomona-Pitzer to finish off the tournament.
