Smith repeated as an All-West Region First Team selection, while McKay received Honorable Mention distinction for the second straight season. Both players have contributed greatly to the success of the fourth-ranked Tigers this season, and were previously selected for the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Team.
McKay is second on the Tiger team in both kills and aces this season, and she has also moved into the top 25 in school history in both categories.
Smith leads Trinity in kills and is second on the team in digs. She is the seventh player in school history to reach 1,400 kills in a career, and she is also ranked in the top 25 all-time in career digs at Trinity.
Led by 33rd-year Head Coach Julie Jenkins, Trinity (27-7) was edged by top-ranked Colorado College in the SCAC Championship match last weekend in Kerrville, Texas. The Tigers earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Playoffs, and will begin play against Pacific Lutheran (WA) University at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, November 10, in Georgetown, Texas.
