Steup Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team

San Antonio - Trinity University Tigers first-year student-athlete Rosemary Steup (Kingwood, Texas/Kingwood) has been named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III All-Academic Cross Country Team.
 
To qualify for the academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or greater through the most-recent semester, and placed in the top 35 at the NCAA Regional Championships.

Steup, who is undecided as to her major, placed 87th of 279 competitors at the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships last November at Waverly, Iowa. She ran the 6k race in 22:19.9.
 
Earlier in the month, Steup finished fourth at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional at Memphis, with a mark of 22:26.
 
Steup was the runner-up in October's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Trinity, at Texas Lutheran in Seguin, Texas. She clocked in at 22:27.6 and was named the SCAC Freshman of the Year.
