San Antonio - Trinity University Tigers junior Sal Perdomo (Irving, Texas/jesuit College Prep) has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
 
Perdomo finished as runner-up at last Saturday's Texas Little State Championships in Abilene, Texas. He recorded a new personal-best record of 26:03. Last year, Perdomo came in at No. 11, with a time of 28:36.
 
The Tiger team finished in second place with 38 points, just behind Texas-Tyler, with 35.
 
Trinity's women won the event for the second year in a row, and for the fifth time in the past six years. The Tigers took places 1-4, paced by sophomore Rosemary Steup (22:47.75).
 
Next up for the Tiger men and women is the Incarnate Word Invitational in San Antonio on Saturday, Oct. 9.
