Box Score San Antonio - The Tiger men's and women's
cross country teams once again finished with a strong showing
against non-Division III teams at the UIW Invitational on
Saturday.
Trinity's men's team finished third among non-Division I teams,
while the women were seventh overall. The Tiger teams held
out their top two men's runners, and the women's team entered just
five runners overall.
Tristan Ashton finished 27th overall to lead the tiger men's
team with his time of 28:08.58 in the 8K event. Chris Soto
came in 34th just a few seconds later, followed by Connor Amoruso
and Philip Flagg. The foursome finished just 30 total seconds
apart.
On the women's side, Jessie Dean paced the Tigers with her time
of 25:52.24 to earn a spot in the top 50 in the 6K race.
Ingrid Harb (26:23.08) and Julia Torres (26:33.27) finished
second and third for the Tigers, followed by Marcella Reyes and
Taylor Quiros.
Rounding out the men's competitors were Ryan Hernandez, Evan
Epps, Zach Zimdars, Austin Brown, Brandon Douglas, Brandon Wilson,
Carlos Anchondo, Isaiah Lopez, and Clay Orona.
The men's and women's teams will be split for the second time
this season next weekend. The top runners will compete at the
UW-Oshkosh Invitational in Winnecone, Wisconsin on Saturday,
October 19. The rest of the teams will compete at the
Concordia Invitational in Cedar Park, Texas, on Saturday.
