Box Score Austin, Texas - Trinity's women's JV cross
country team earned a second-place finish at the Concordia
University Invitational on Friday evening.
Texas Lutheran won the team title of the 5k race with 45 points
at Northeast Metro Park. The Tigers placed ahead of host Concordia
(80), Southwestern (83), and Northwood (104).
Five Tiger runners finished in the top-20 of the individual
competition. Leading the Trinity group was Autumn Kervella, who
clocked in at 19:26.24 for a ninth-place finish.
Mariana Sigala (19:54.21) was 13th, and Jessie Dean (20:00.6)
crossed the finish line in 15th place. Natalie Belew
(20:20.79) came in at No. 17, while Marcella Reyes (20:24.07) was
18th.
Unattached runner Brenda Felipe (17:36.92) won the race, and
Lilly Duarte (18:13.15) of Southwestern was runner-up.
Some members of the women's cross country team will
compete Saturday at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational at Winneconne,
Wisconsin.
Trinity's women, ranked No. 9 in the nation, are fresh off
a team victory Oct. 5 at the Hanover DIII Pre-Nationals at Hanover,
Indiana.
