San Antonio - Trinity Tigers senior Maddie Murphy has been selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Murphy led the Tiger women to the team title at last Saturday's Division III Cross Country Pre-Nationals Invitational at Hanover College in Hanover, Ind. Trinity, ranked No. 9 in the nation, scored 44 points in the meet, leading a field of 18 teams.

In the individual competition, Murphy ran the 6k race in 22:24.39, to finish in fourth place among some 228 entrants. Six of the Tiger women runners finished in the top-35 of the event.

The Tiger women's squad hits the road Oct. 19 for the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh meet at Winneconne, Wis. Trinity's men's team is slated to run in the Oct. 12 UIW (University of the Incarnate Word) Invitational at Live Oak, Texas.
