San Antonio - Tiger senior Michelle Oberndorf has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Oberndorf paced the Trinity women's team to another first-place finish - among non-Division I schools - at the UTSA/Ricardo Romo Classic, held in San Antonio. 

Oberndorf led the Tiger women to their second consecutive championship in as many races. Trinity scored 37 points in the winning effort. She also was the top runner in the non-Division I 5k event, posting a time of 19:32.8. Oberndorf recorded a No. 4 overall finish,  This season, Oberndorf has spearheaded the Tigers to the two victories, and has finished in the top-five overall in both events. In addition, Oberndorf has been the leading Division III female runner in both races.

Trinity's men and women began their 2014 campaigns by capturing the team titles at their Alamo City Opener on August 29 at Live Oak, Texas.

The Tigers will next compete October 4 at the Chile Pepper Invitational at Fayetteville, Arkansas.
