San Antonio - Trinity sophomore Austin Brown has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Brown led the Tigers to a stand-out performance at last week's UTSA/Ricardo Romo Classic, held in San Antonio. The Tiger men placed second among non-Division I schools in the 5K event.

Brown finished 10th among non-Division I runners, and 15th overall. He had the second-best time for the Tigers, clocking in at 16:48.1 in the 5k race. Brown placed in the top-15 of the field for the second time this season.

Trinity's men and women began their 2014 campaigns by capturing the team titles at their Alamo City Opener on August 29 at Live Oak, Texas.

The Tigers will next compete October 4 at the Chile Pepper Invitational at Fayetteville, Arkansas.
