Molly McCullough Makes Trinity Cross Country History at Nationals

Louisville, Kentucky - Trinity sophomore Molly McCullough ran a personal-best time in the 6k and finished in 65th place Saturday at the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships.

"I"m really proud of Molly and all the work she's put in to get here," said Tiger Head Coach Emily Daum. "She ran a great race and got the full Nationals experience. I'm very excited to see how these next two years go for her."

 

HIGHLIGHTS

Molly McCullough crossed the finish line with a PR time of 21:43.7 at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park. McCullough placed 65th of 280 competitors.

No other Trinity sophomore runner has finished better at the NCAA Championships than McCullough, and her time puts her in third place in school history.

McCullough qualified for nationals with a runner-up finish at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional at Mount Berry, Georgia. The previous year, McCullough had finished in the 26th position.

At the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships, held at Round Rock, Texas, McCullough was a third-place finisher.
