Trinity's Cross Country Teams Open 2016 Season in Victory

San Antonio - The Tiger men's and women's cross country teams opened up the 2016 season with a pair of team victories at the Alamo City Opener on Thursday morning.

After the early-morning race, we caught up with senior Austin Brown, sophomore Molly McCullough, and third-year Head Coach Emily Daum. (For mobile users, please click here for the video.)

 

 

HIGHLIGHTS

Trinity's men won with a team score of 21 points, compared to a 38-point effort from Our Lady of the Lake (TX) University (OLLU).

The Tiger women posted the day's lowest score with 17 points, defeating OLLU's 46 points.

Molly McCullough finished second overall as the top runner for Trinity's women, finishing in 19:34.27.

Austin Brown was the men's runner-up, pacing the Tigers with his time of 16:14.85.

 

NOTABLES

The women's race featured eight Trinity runners among the top 10 overall, including a pair of first-years who competed in their first collegiate race.

Six Tiger men's runners place in the top 10 in today's meet, as well as a pair of first-years in the top 15 individually.  

 

UP NEXT

Trinity will compete at the Our Lady of the Lake Collegiate Invitational, hosted by the Windcrest Golf Course, on September 10.
