San Antonio - Trinity seniors Elliot Blake and Molly McCullough have been tabbed as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country Men's and Women's Runners of the Week.

The two Trinity standouts paced the Tigers to excellent finishes last weekend at the highly competitive Rowan (NJ) University Inter-Regional Border Battle in Logan Township, New Jersey. The Tiger women placed 13th out of a field of 39 teams. Trinity, ranked fifth in the South/Southeast Region and came within 20 points of second-ranked University of Lynchburg (VA). The Tiger men were 26th in a field of 42 teams.

McCullough fought her way on the muddy course and placed seventh of some 345 runners in the 6k race. Taking on some of the best competitors in the NCAA Division III, McCullough crossed the finish line in 21:39.1.

Blake also took on top competitors and finished 17th in a field of more than 400 runners in the 8k event. His time of 25:25 bettered his personal-best mark by 25 seconds.

Led by Head Coach Emily Daum, the Tiger men's and women's teams will defend their titles at the SCAC Cross Country Championships October 27 in Kerrville, Texas. Schreiner (TX) University is the host institution.
