Tigers Cross Country Posts Strong Results at Chile Pepper Festival

Fayetteville, Arkansas - The Trinity men's and women's cross country teams turned in strong performances at Saturday's Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival, hosted by the University of Arkansas.

HIGHLIGHTS

The Tiger women's team finished 18th with 510 points in the 5k, against a field of 55 teams which included NCAA Division I squads. Trinity's men came in at #22 with 647 points in the 8k, in a formidable field of 49 teams. Both teams were able to overcome muddy course conditions to post standout times.

Senior Molly McCullough placed 15th in a field of 425 runners in the women's 5k race. McCullough crossed the finish line in 17:49.4, just .2 seconds behind her personal-best established at last year's Chile Pepper event. Her mark is also the third fastest time in school history.

Briana Ratliff finished in 84th place, Jordan Juran came in at #138, and Allison Hill was a #150 runner.

Elliot Blake placed 52nd in a field of some 440 competitors in the 8k event. Blake posted a mark of 25:50.51, setting a new personal record.

Harry Bellow finished in 94th place and Keaton Holt came in at the # 170 slot.

Triniy's teams will compete October 6 at the University of the Incarnate Word (TX) Invitational, held at Live Oak City Park in the San Antonio area.
