San Antonio - Trinity had four divers compete at the NCAA Region 2 Championships on Friday afternoon in Trinity's Hixon Natatorium.

The Tiger women took three of the top five spots, including first and second place in the 1-meter diving competition. There will be four women and two men from the entire field in Region 2 that will qualify for the NCAA Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina next month.
Katarina Partalas took the top spot in Friday's competition, scoring 414.55 to win by 26.50 points.
Maren Merwarth narrowly won second place with her score of 388.05, which was less than three points clear of third place.
Partalas and Merwarth have unofficially qualified for the Nationals with today's performances, though the NCAA does not announce the official field in diving until early next week..
Mya Tio finished with a 360.95 score to earn a fifth-place finish.
Anthony Liva was fifth in the men's 3-meter competition, scoring 401.45 in today's meet.

The four Trinity competitors will be back in action tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. for the final event. The men will switch to the 1-meter competition, while the women will be on the high board.
