Box Score SAN ANTONIO - The Trinity University cross country team made the short trek to Live Oak Park for the University of the Incarnate Word Invitational Friday afternoon. The women took fourth in the 6K, the men sixth in the 8K, in a field crowded with NCAA I opponents.
THE RUNDOWN
Seniors Jordan Juran (Littleton, Colo. / Chatfield) and Abby Blackwood (Malibu, Calif. / Malibu) paced the Tigers in the early race, finishing ninth and 13th, respectively. Juran was the last runner to finish under the 22-minute mark while Blackwood clocked in at 22 minutes, 26 seconds.
Trinity's latter race was led by sophomore Ben Whittemore (Georgetown, Texas / Georgetown) and senior Keaton Holt (Portland, Ore. / Grant) who were neck-and-neck from the starting gun to the stripe. Whittemore finished 26th in 26 minutes, 22 seconds with Holt just two seconds back for 27th.
Just-outside the top-20 in the women's run, first-year Ellie Catron (Spring, Texas / Woodlands Christian) and sophomore Elaine Kaster (Lewisville, Texas / Founders Classical) crossed the line 21st and 22nd, respectively, just-under the 23-minute mark. Sophomore Anna King (San Antonio, Texas / Reagan) rounded out the scorers in the women's race with a 23:41.
The trio of junior Chad Conway (Moorpark, Calif. / Moorpark), first-year Ryan Rager-Aguiar (Spring Hill, Tenn. / Independence) and sophomore Joseph Hermes (Houston, Texas / Houston Christian) completed the Tiger men's top-five.
COACH SPEAK
"I'm really proud of how both teams performed today," Head Coach Emily Daum said. "We had to err on the conservative side with the SCAC meet just eight days away, but both teams executed the race plan well."

Trinity University Cross Country turns its focus to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship. The event hosted by University of Dallas takes place February 6 in Irving, Texas.
