Trinity Baseball Moved Up to Third in National Poll

San Antonio - The Trinity baseball team moved up a notch to third in the NCAA Division III by the latest D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Poll.

Led by 21st-year Head Coach Tim Scannell, the Tigers have amassed 530 points in the poll, just six behind second-place Rowan (NJ) University. The College of Wooster (OH) continues to be the top-ranked team in the polling.

Trinity stands at 6-2 in the early part of the campaign. Individually, pitcher James Nittoli is tied for first place nationally in victories, sporting a 3-0 record. The left-hander has made three appearances and starts and has 18.2 innings of mound work to his credit. First baseman John Tucker holds a #11 ranking with 12 RBI in his column.

The Tigers will host 18th-ranked Babson (MA) College in a three-game series this weekend. Friday's and Saturday's matchups start at 7:00 p.m., while Sunday's is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
