Sean Etheredge will be in his 13th year as Trinity’s men’s golf coach, and second as the Director of Golf, when the 2025-26 season gets underway. 
 
During the 2024-25 season, the Tigers achieved two team victories and seven top-three finishes. The Tigers had four All-SCAC golfers and placed second at the SCAC Championships. Freshman Sam Rossi was named SCAC Freshman of the Year, the first to accomplish the feat since Neel Sandhu in 2022-23. Carter Code, Jacob Mason, and Sam Rossi were named PING All-Region. Coach Sean and Trinity earned an At-Large bid to the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2023, where the team finished tied for 17th. 

With Sean at the helm, there have been 27 All-SCAC players, 13 All-Region athletes, 7 All-Americans. Along with that, Coach Etheredge has produced an SCAC Golfer of the Year and three SCAC Freshman of the Year. Academically, the Tigers have posted 62 athletes on the conference honor roll, five CSC Academic All-District honorees, and one CSC Academic All-American. 
 
During 2021, Coach Etheredge led the Trinity men’s golf team to their first SCAC Championship since 2013. The Tigers also earned a NCAA National Championship berth and finished 11th in the tournament. Coach Etheredge was also voted Coach of the Year by his peers after the 2021 spring season. Holden Wisner won Golfer of the Year and Giorgio Gianoulis earned Freshman of the Year. Four more golfers received All-SCAC honors. 
 
Coach Etheredge is a respected teacher of the game of golf. He is the director of instruction at The Quarry Golf Course in San Antonio. Coach Etheredge is a Stack and Tilt Network Instructor, a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Fitness Instructor, and a Class A PGA Professional. He has received two Southern Texas PGA (STPGA) Awards for Merchandiser of the Year, as well as two nominations for STPGA Chapter Teacher of the Year. He was the director of instruction for the Alamo City Golf Trail in San Antonio. Coach Etheredge created player development and retention strategies throughout the San Antonio municipal golf system. Among the programs were Get Golf Ready, Junior Golf Academy, and the Alamo City Golf Trail League series.
Coach Etheredge was lead instructor for the Joe Caruso Golf Academy. In addition to golf lessons and training, Coach Etheredge worked on fitness programs by performing physical movement screening and other techniques. The versatile Coach Etheredge held the position of strength and conditioning coach at San Antonio’s Olympic Gym, where clients were trained in a competitive and high-intensity atmosphere. 
 
Coach Etheredge earned a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2005. He is also a 1999 graduate of Alamo Heights School.
