Lauren Loeffler

Lauren Loeffler will be in her 12th season as the assistant coach of the Trinity Tigers men’s and women’s cross country teams during the 2025 fall season. A native of Mesa, Arizona, Coach Loeffler also coaches distance runners on the Trinity men’s and women’s track & field squads. 

Coach Loeffler helped lead the women's and men's cross country team to their second place finishes during the Southern Collegiate Athletics Conference Championship in the 2024 fall season. 

Coach Loeffler has played a major role in the Tigers’ cross country success. Trinity sent three runners to the 2019 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships. A men’s and women’s runner competed in the 2018 NCAA Championships, and Molly McCullough earned women’s All-America accolades for the second consecutive time, becoming Trinity’s first multiple cross country honoree. The Tiger women’s team qualified for the 2017 NCAA Championships, and finished in 16th place. Trinity has also won three men’s and two women’s Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships during Coach Loeffler’s tenure.

Prior to coming aboard in 2015, Coach Loeffler worked for five years as the store manager of iRun in San Antonio. She developed extensive training regimens for runners. Included were integrated video analysis of running biomechanics and the development of personal fitness workouts. Coach Loeffler has delivered numerous lectures and conducted special events for a variety of groups.

Coach Loeffler also worked for The Form Corp., training individual athletes from high schools and fitness centers. She guided the athletes in the achievement of specific biomechanical goals.

She served as a running form consultant for several Tiger runners over a two-year period and was a volunteer assistant coach at Trinity in 2010 and 2011.

Coach Loeffler was a gifted student-athlete at DePauw (IN) University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2010 in biology with a minor in U.S. history. Coach Loeffler was an eight-time All-American at the NCAA Division III Cross Country and Track & Field Championships. Her best finishes included second place in the Indoor Track & Field mile and third place in the Outdoor 5k. Coach Loeffler also placed fourth at the 2009 NCAA Cross Country Championships. Coach Loeffler was inducted into the DePauw University Hall of Fame in the fall of 2022. 

The talented Coach Loeffler received high honors from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC). She was elected the 2010 SCAC Woman of the Year and was the conference Women’s Runner of the Year in 2006 and 2009. Coach Loeffler was a nine-time SCAC champion in cross country and track & field.

Coach Loeffler was recognized by Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference as one of the conference's historically great student-athletes with her selection to the 30th Anniversary Cross Country and Track & Field team during the 2020-21 cycle, which commemorated the league's current iteration beginning in 1991.

The former Lauren Reich married Jonathan Loeffler in December 2016 and welcomed a son (Owen) into the world in March of 2021.
