San Antonio - Trinity's men's soccer team finished off a regular season sweep of Austin College with a 6-2 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win on Friday evening.
The Tigers won for the eighth consecutive time after a 1-1 tie earlier this season. Trinity is now 13-0-1 on the season, and 5-0-0 in SCAC play.
Yuri Ribeiro and Alan Castillejos had two goals each for the Tigers, accounting for most of the team's offense. Ribeiro opened the scoring with a goal in the third minute, then made it 2-0 with a goal in the 12th minute.
After Trinity's Nima Naderi scored the eventual game-winner that made it 3-0, Austin College finally got on the board in the 33rd minute. Johnny Lawson snuck in a goal with just eight seconds left in the first half to make it 4-1 Tigers.
In the second half, Austin College got another goal to make it 4-2, but then Castillejos scored two straight goals to finish the scoring. Simon Uribe, Tom Carwile, and Michael Micheletti earned assists.
Goalkeeper Matt Cardone also earned an assist on Ribeiro's second goal, as well as making three saves in 90 minutes of action. He did allow two goals, snapping a streak of more than 600 scoreless minutes.
Trinity will finish its SCAC weekend with a game against Centenary College at noon on Sunday afternoon.
