Three Tiger Men’s Soccer Players Earn All-Region Honors

San Antonio - Trinity's Quentin Van Der Lee, Jacob Galan, and Andrea Codispoti have been elected to the United Soccer Coaches Division III Men's All-West Region Teams.

Van Der Lee, a junior midfielder, and Galan, a sophomore defender, were tabbed for the All-Region First Team. Codispoti, a junior forward, made the Second Team. Each player was earlier selected for the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) First Team.

Van Der Lee made the All-West Region First Team for the second year in a row. He played in 19 of the Tigers' 21 games during the season and chalked up three goals, with one game-winner. Van der Lee also was responsible for two assists.

Galan contributed one goal during the campaign, which was also a game-winner. He was a major contributor to Trinity's defense that posted six shutout victories and allowed 2.05 goals per game. Galan was also named to the SCAC All-Tournament Team.

Codispoti was a 2018 All-Region Third Team honoree. He led the Tiger team this season with nine goals and three game-winners and was tied for second with three assists.

Led by 29th-year Head Coach Paul McGinlay, the Tigers completed the season with a 12-7-2 overall record and a 6-3 mark in conference play. Trinity hosted the SCAC Tournament and opened with a 1-0 victory over the University of Dallas (TX). Texas Lutheran University beat the Tigers 2-0 in the Semifinals.

Trinity received an at-large bid to 18th consecutive NCAA Tournament and hosted the first two rounds. The Tigers claimed a 3-1 decision over 23rd-ranked University of Texas-Dallas, and then lost 2-0 to #13 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CA) Colleges.
