#14 Men's Tennis Shut Out by Top-Ranked Tyler Junior College

Abilene, Texas - The 14th-ranked Trinity men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to #1 Tyler Junior College in an indoor match on Friday night.



Trinity (1-1) is ranked 14th in the NCAA Division III, while Tyler JC (2-0) is the #1 team in the National Junior College Athletic Association. The match was played under JUCO rules, where doubles count as one point.

A bright spot for the Tigers was #2 doubles, where Jordan Pitts and Liam Crawley battled their way to a 7-6 victory. Matt Tyer and Wilson Lambeth lost #1 doubles, while Cameron Bilsbarrow and McKenna Fujitani fell in the third matchup.

All of the singles matches resulted in straight-sets losses. Tyer was edged 7-6 in the first set at #6 singles, but lost 6-1 in the second. Lambeth played #1 singles, Pitts competed in the second match, and Crawley competed in #3 singles. Kevin Lee represented the Tigers in #4 singles, and Fujitani played the fifth match.



The Tigers continue their road trip in Abilene on Saturday. First up will be another indoors match at 10:00 a.m. with Division I Abilene Christian University, followed by an outdoor Division III matchup at Hardin-Simmons (TX) University at 3:30 p.m.
