#17 Trinity Men’s Tennis Drops Match to #4 Emory

Atlanta, Georgia - The seventeenth-ranked Trinity men's tennis team lost 8-1 to fourth-ranked Emory (GA) University Saturday afternoon.



The only victory for the Tigers occurred at #1 doubles, as Jordan Pitts and Wilson Lambeth outfought the Emory duo 8-7 (11-9). This was a huge win for the Tiger duo because their opponent captured the Division III Championship at the ITA Oracle Cup last October in Rome, Georgia.

Wilson Hamilton and Christian Settles lost on the #2 doubles line, and Cameron Krimbill and Artur Zigman came up short on the the third.

Emory claimed straight set decisions in all six singles matches. The closest was #2 singles as Lambeth lost 7-6, 7-5 to his opponent.

Pitts played #1 singles, Hamilton was the #3 player, Krimbill represented the Tigers on the fourth line, Jace Akagi-Okuma was the #5 player, and Tilden Oliver was the #6 singles competitor.



Trinity now stands at 5-6 on the season. The Tigers had their first loss to a Division III opponent and are sporting a 4-1 DIII record. Emory improved to 5-2 overall after the win.

Jordan Pitts and Wilson Lambeth are 9-2 as a doubles team.


Trinity continues its road trip to Orlando, Florida, for a five-match schedule. First is a Monday matchup with ninth-ranked Wesleyan (CN) University at 11:30 a.m. EDT. The match is scheduled to be played at the USTA National Campus.
