Sherman, Texas – Trinity's 13th-ranked men's tennis team polished off its 10th consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship with a 5-0 win over Southwestern (TX) University on Sunday morning.
In addition to the 10th straight conference title, Trinity's men's tennis team has now won 24 overall SCAC Championships, which is the most of any sport in conference history.
As the conference champions, the Tiger men also receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs. The selections will be announced May 6 with tournament play beginning the following weekend.
Head Coach Russell McMindes has led Tigers to the SCAC title in each of his 10 seasons at the helm of the Trinity men's program.
Trinity won the first set in all four singles matches that took the court after doubles, but it was Krimbill who was first off the board at line three.
The clincher then came at line four, as Hamilton won 6-4, 6-2 to move to 10-11 this season.
Trinity will await opening round selections to determine matchups, times, and location for the NCAA Playoffs.
