San Antonio - Trinity Director of Athletics Bob King announced that Head Softball Coach Brandi Dolsen has resigned her position in order to spend more time with her family.

Coach Dolsen has led the Tiger softball team for the last seven seasons, as well as serving as an assistant coach in 2011 and 2012. She piled up 146 career wins at Trinity, which is the second-highest total in program history.

"I would really like to thank everyone at Trinity for the years of support and creating such an amazing work environment," said Coach Dolsen. "I am grateful to all of the players who worked so hard and dedicated their time to our program. I look forward to following the future of Trinity Softball."

Trinity advanced to four consecutive SCAC Tournament Championship games from 2013-2016 under her leadership, posting three seasons with 25 or more victories. Coach Dolsen saw 36 players earn All-SCAC honors and four National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region players during her tenure.

Coach Dolsen was elected to the Sam Houston State (TX) University Hall of Honor in 2016 after a distinguished pitching career with the NCAA Division I Bearkats. She hurled four no-hitters and set the Sam Houston record with 528 strikeouts during her collegiate career. Coach Dolsen was named the Southland Conference Most Valuable Player after pitching 23 consecutive innings in 2007, sending Sam Houston to its first appearance in the NCAA Division I Playoffs.

Assistant Coach Megan Hill has also announced her resignation after three seasons with the Tiger softball team.
