Trinity Swimming & Diving Teams Ranked High in NCAA Division III

San Antonio - The Trinity women's swimming & diving team is ranked 11th in the NCAA Division III, and the men are 12th by CollegeSwimming.com.

The Tiger women have racked up 613.05 points and the men have 629.90, based on dual meets this season.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Mabel Fowler, Morgen Reyna, Star Rosales, and Elizabeth Nelson is #2 in the nation with a mark of 3:29.20. The same quartet is ranked fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay, 1:35.82.

Fowler has the third-fastest Division III time in both the women's 200-yard backstroke (2:01.76) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:58.81). Fowler is fourth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:52.62. Reyna is ninth in the 100-yard freestyle, at 52.08 seconds.

Beau Tipton is ranked third in the men's 200-yard butterfly, clocking in at 1:48.54. Tipton holds a #8 ranking in the 500-yard freestyle at 4:35.57. The team of Tipton, Daniel Sarman, Spencer Steward, and Shamzi Alkaff is ranked 12th in the 400-yard medley relay at 3:27.00.

A number of Tiger divers have posted NCAA qualifying scores: Gabi Fulk and Maren Merwarth from the women's team, and Anthony Liva from the men's. The divers are looking to compete in the NCAA Division III Region 2 Championships February 28-29 at Trinity's Hixon Natatorium.

Scott Trompeter is Trinity's head swimming coach, and Stan Randall leads the diving program.
