Trinity Women’s Basketball Ranked in Two National Polls

San Antonio - The Trinity women's basketball team has received top-25 rankings in two NCAA Division III polls.

Led by eighth-year Head Coach Cameron Hill, the Tigers are ranked 20th by the Poll and #21 by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Poll. Trinity stands at 3-1 in the early part of the season.

The Tigers opened the campaign with a 74-55 victory over then eighth-ranked George Fox (OR) University and were edged 71-68 by #9 University of St. Thomas (MN) in home games. Trinity defeated Hardin-Simmons (TX) University 77-68 at home and traveled to Marshall, Texas, and beat East Texas Baptist University 69-60.

This season, Trinity has averaged 72 points per game, while the opposition has put up 63.5. The Tigers are shooting 46.3% from the field and average 24.8 rebounds per contest.

Junior guard Jordan Rudd is tied for 17th place in Division III assists per game with an average of 5.8 in her column. Senior forward Abby Holland leads the team in points per game (17.9) and rebounds per game (6.0). Junior guard Emily Daniel averages 12.3 points per game. Sophomore center Hailey Coleman has pulled in 4.7 rebounds each matchup.

The Tigers return to action December 15 by hosting the University of Texas-Dallas at 2:00 p.m. UT-Dallas has received votes in the WBCA and Polls.
