Women's Tennis Continues at Contender CrossFit Islander Open

Corpus Christi, Texas - Trinity's women's tennis team competed in day of its season-opening event at the Contender CrossFit Islander Open on Saturday.

 

HIGHLIGHTS

Zoe Kaffen and Megan Flores were both in the Semifinals of their respective singles flights, but both Tiger players lost today and will move to the Third Place Match.

Zoe Kaffen won her opening set 7-5, but lost 1-6, 2-6 in next two to miss a shot at the B Singles Final. Flores was in the D Singles draw, falling 1-6, 4-6 to come up short of the final as well.

Ashley DeBauge lost in the B Singles consolations and will now play in the Seventh Place Match, while Mary Kaffen and Francesca Canjar also lost in the C Singles consolations and will face each other in the Seventh Place Match of that draw.

Nichole Markiewicz was a 6-2, 6-1 winnner in the consolations of the E Singles tournament and will now play in the Fifth Place Match. Maddee Williams Koeller was also in the E Singles bracket, but her loss today puts her in the Seventh Place Match.

Natalie Hur and Megan Flores lost in the consolations of the A Doubles Flight and will now take on Mary and Zoe Kaffen for seventh place, following the 2-6 loss by the Kaffens.

DeBauge and Markiewicz also lost in the B Doubles consolations and will fight it out for seventh place in that draw.
