Women's Tennis Finishes Weekend Event at A&M-Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi, Texas - The Trinity women’s tennis team wrapped up its fall season-opening Contender CrossFit Islander Open on Sunday at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.



Megan Flores finished fourth in D Singles after a 4-6, 4-6 loss to Valeria Montero of the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley.

Zoe and Mary Kaffen won seventh place in A Doubles with a 6-3 victory over Tiger teammates Flores and Natalie Hur. 

Ashley DeBauge and Nichole Markiewicz took seventh in B Doubles with a 7-5 decision over Montero and Alicia Thai of UT-Rio Grande Valley.

DeBauge lost 4-6, 5-7 to Denise Simonetti of Lamar in the B Singles seventh-place match.

Annie Wise substituted for Hur in the seventh-place match of D Singles and lost 3-6, 2-6 to Jayci Wong of Lamar.

Maddee Williams Koeller came up short 3-6, 7-5 in the E Singles seventh-place pairing to Dominique Leh, also of Lamar.



The Tigers will compete Friday-Sunday, September 20-22, at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southwest Region Championships in Abilene, Texas.
