Mary and Zoe Kaffen Reach Doubles Quarterfinals at ITA Cup

Rome, Georgia - Trinity’s Zoe Kaffen and Mary Kaffen won their opening Division III Women’s Doubles match Thursday at the ITA Cup.

 

HIGHLIGHTS

The Kaffen twins defeated siblings Grace Riermann and Maggie Riermann of Bethel (MN) University 6-3, 7-5 in the opening round of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association event at the Rome Tennis Center.

Trinity’s tandem will next play Crystal Juan and Anna Kern of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CA) Colleges in Friday’s Quarterfinals. 

The Semifinals are scheduled for later in the day on Friday, and the DIII Championship will be played Saturday.

The Kaffen duo qualified for the ITA Cup by winning the ITA Southwest Region Doubles Championship last month at Abilene, Texas. It marked the second year in a row the Tiger tandem took home the title.
