Trinity Volleyball Ranked 10th by AVCA Poll

San Antonio - The Trinity volleyball team has been ranked 10th by the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Coaches Top-25 Poll.

Trinity stands at 16-4 overall and 8-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC). The Tigers traveled to Kerrville, Texas, last weekend for a SCAC Tournament and posted a 3-1 record. Ranked eighth at the time, Trinity defeated Centenary (LA) College, Southwestern (TX) University, and the University of Dallas (TX), while falling to then ninth-ranked Colorado College.

The win over Dallas gave Head Coach Julie Jenkins her 950th career victory. She became the 11th coach in NCAA history - in any division - to achieve the milestone. Coach Jenkins is the winningest active coach in the NCAA Division III and ranks third all time in the DIII record books.

Avery Tuggle currently leads the team with 235 kills (3.18/set), while Katrina Lieberman has posted 373 assists (5.92/set). Lieberman has chalked up 2,667 assisst (8.66/set) in her career.

Annie Rose Leggett  has accounted for 251 digs (3.39/set), and Emily Ellis has blocked 69 shots (1.01/set). Emma Funk is the leading hitter with a .390 mark.

The Tigers will host the Trinity Fall Classic this weekend. Friday's schedule has Trinity taking on the University of California-Santa Cruz and 11th-ranked Ohio Northern University. The Saturday lineup includes the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (TX) and Rowan (NJ) University.
