San Antonio - Trinity's Annie Rose Leggett has been tabbed as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Offensive Volleyball Player of the Week.
The junior outside hitter turned in excellent performances last weekend as the sixth-ranked Tigers closed out their regular-season home slate with victories over Hardin-Simmons (TX) University and East Texas Baptist University.
Leggett fired in 27 kills in the two matches, including a career high 20 against East Texas Baptist. Leggett also had 13 digs and three service aces in each match and hit .333 for the week.
This week's conference honor was the second in a row for the versatile Leggett. She was named the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week on October 28.
Leggett leads the Tigers with 462 digs (3.73/set) and in service aces with 50 total. She is second in kills with 327 (2.64/set) to her credit.
Trinity is on a 17 match win streak and stands at 31-4 overall and 17-1 in conference play. The Tigers are the top seeds in this weekend's SCAC Championship at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas. Trinity received a bye into the semifinals and will play at 12:00 p.m. Saturday. The championship match is slated for 12:30 p.m. Sunday with the winner guaranteed a bid to the NCAA Division III Playoffs.
